Arquitecto titulado en la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile en 1995. A trabajado con el premio nacional de Arquitectura 2006 Germán del Sol entre 1995 y 1998 y con el premio Prizker Norman Foster entre 1999 y 2001. En 2001 forma el estudio S3 Arquitectos. A sido profesor de taller en la Universidad Finis Terrae.
Actualmente lidera el estudio Horacio Schmidt Arquitectos, dedicado al diseño de proyectos residenciales, inmobiliarios, institucionales, de educación, de paisage y territoriales.

Architect graduated from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in 1995. He worked with the 2006 Chilean National Architecture Prize Germán del Sol between 1995 and 1998 and with the Prizker Prize Norman Foster between 1999 and 2001. In 2001 he formed the study S3 Architects. He has been a workshop professor at Finis Terrae University.
He is currently leading the Horacio Schmidt Arquitectos studio, dedicated to the design of residential, real estate, institutional, educational, landscape and territorial projects.
Metodología de Trabajo
Nuestra filosofía de diseño se basa en la integración de las ideas del lugar y el tiempo en que se emplaza la obra, el encargo y la participación activa del mandante y nuestra convicción de que cada obra es un desafío irrepetible. Esto da como resultado proyectos únicos, contemporáneos, que se relacionan entre sí a partir de ideas profundas que trascienden la forma. Ideas como la preponderancia del espacio y la luz, la relación entre interior y exterior y la materialidad y su influencia en el diseño.

Our philosophy is based in the interaction of the ideas from the site and time where the project is placed, the commission and active work with the client and our convincement that every project is unique and unrepeatable. As a result our projects are diverse, contemporary, related by profound ideas that go beyond the form. Ideas such as the preponderance of space and light, relationship between interior and exterior spaces, materials and their influence in the design are the inspiration to our work.
We give a great importance to the all the phases and scales of a project. Meticulous detailing and the use of 3D models and CAD enable us to design every part of a building in the same concept as the whole. In the same way we believe in the interaction of all the specialists involved in the project.
